Just got back from a lovely couple of days at Stockghyll Cottage, greeted by Adrian when we arrived on Thursday night, he explained everything and showed us to our room, then on Friday we had a lovely breakfast before heading into Bowness for the day, again Adrian recommended a few things for us to do. Had a great day then headed back Saturday again were had a lovely breakfast, greeted by the lovely Hamish! All in all a great couple of days and highly recommend Stockghyll cottage.

We had a great 3 nights here. The location is really good, just in the middle of Lake district, and really beautiful. The room was really nice and the breakfast was a delicious one. The garden was amazing, although we could not spend time there due to the weather.

We have just stayed for 2 nights. Adrian, Heather and Hamish the Westie were fantastic hosts. The cottage is in a superb location walking distance into Bowness. The cottage is delightful and the gardens and waterfall stunning. We walked down to Stockghyll Water Meadow and watched the sun set which was spectacular. The home cooked breakfast each morning was scrumptious. We will be back.

Our family has just spent four nights at Stockghyll Cottage. Adrian, Heather and Hamish are most welcoming and the Cottage is lovely. It is a short walk to town, has ample parking, a lovely waterfall in the back garden and its own water meadow leading to the lakeside. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfasts delicious. Look forward to returning for a longer visit.

Woodland, waterfall and river, what more could you ask for in a beautiful garden. Add to that a lovely house, friendly hosts, fresh strawberries for breakfast. Absolutely perfect, a small corner of heaven.
Thank you, Heather and Adrian for a wonderful weekend. See you again next year.

We loved our 3 nights stay here. This is a stunningly beautiful building, with amazing gardens. Heather and Adrian were the loveliest and most welcoming hosts and provided a delicious, freshly cooked breakfast with fabulous locally produced preserves on the table. Lovely and clean, fresh soft bedding, fluffy pillows, fresh towels, and tea/coffee replenishments daily (couldn't have asked for more!) Their small dog Hamish, was lovely and very quiet (didn't see him much, didn't hear any noise from him at all.) The private Water meadow and 3 small lakeside beaches were beautiful - ideal for star gazing, which we did on two of our three nights (amazingly clear sky, practically no light pollution dispute proximity to town, we utilised the free to borrow folding chairs and torches to take to the beaches.) Only a short, gentle walk to and from town and Windermere was only a short, cheap taxi journey away. This is a superb quality and value for money B&B, in an ideal location! We highly recommend. Many thanks to Adrian and Heather for having us.
